In the Eye of the Beholder: February 13 - April 13 2025

31 Greene St, #1, Soho

(New York, NY) – The highly anticipated art exhibition In the Eye of the Beholder curated by Natasha Stefanovic is set to open on February 13 bringing together an exquisite selection of paintings and photographs that celebrate depth, beauty, and artistic diversity. Featuring six talented New York-based artists, Natasha Wright, Reuben Paterson, EJ Camp, Robert Drysdale, Justin Orvis Steimer and Steven Lemon, the exhibit presents a dynamic fusion of floral and figurative works, alongside striking abstract compositions.

Curated to explore the interplay between perception and artistic expression, In the Eye of the Beholder showcases an eclectic mix of styles, ranging from Abstract figurative and Neo-expressionism to Minimalism. Each artist brings a unique perspective, resulting in a compelling and cohesive exhibition that immerses viewers in an experience of visual poetry and emotional resonance.

Among the standout works, Wright’s bold brushstrokes command attention with powerful depictions of female figures, exuding strength and intensity. In contrast,  Drysdale’s delicate yet playful floral paintings offer a serene and whimsical touch. Reuben Paterson’s glitter and pearl-encrusted constellation paintings shimmer with celestial grandeur, while Steimer’s poetic yet daring works on re-purposed boat sails transport viewers into uncharted artistic territory. The exhibition also features an extensive collection of abstract minimalist paintings by Steven Lemon, culminating in a series of striking yellow compositions that dominate the gallery’s downstairs space—imbued with a sense of quiet reflection, which are deep and poetic in it’s own realm.

Adding another dimension to the exhibit, the sole photographer EJ Camp presents two mesmerizing floral photographs, capturing flowers floating in water in a Neo-Rococo style. These images serve as a delicate yet powerful complement to the exhibition’s overarching themes of beauty and contemplation.

Set against the backdrop of a loft in Soho—a space once inhabited by renowned artist Kehinde Wiley—the exhibit’s setting further enhances the immersive and thought-provoking atmosphere. In the Eye of the Beholder is not merely a showcase of individual artworks but an exploration of how different artistic voices converge to create a collective visual symphony.

This must-see exhibition will be open to the public by appointment only, offering art enthusiasts and collectors a chance to experience an extraordinary blend of artistic brilliance.
